Fish Facility: Aquaculture System Specialist (Contract Non-Staff)
Research
We are seeking motivated and hands-on individuals to join our Fish Facility team. The successful candidate will support the daily operation of aquaculture systems, including fish husbandry, feeding, water quality monitoring, system maintenance, and research activities.
Responsibilities:
· Daily care and husbandry of aquatic animals
· Conduct routine water quality testing and monitor fish/shrimp health, behaviour, feeding response, growth and system parameters.
· Assist in set-up and preparation of experiment trials.
· Participate in experimental trials of aquatic animals, not limited to
- Feeding
- Hatchery and Larviculture
- Husbandry
- Data collection
- Data analysis
- Report
· Maintenance of the aquaculture system.
· Assist with inventory and stock control of laboratory consumables, equipment, and chemicals.
· Support SOP updates, reporting, audits, and compliance with safety and regulatory requirements.
Requirements:
· NITEC/Higher NITEC or Diploma in Marine Science, Biotechnology, Environmental Science, Food Science, Aquaculture, or a related field.
· Possesses a positive attitude, willingness to learn, and a keen interest in aquaculture, marine science, or fish farming.
· Demonstrates adaptability in performing duties across office and aquaculture farm environments.
· Willing to travel to offsite when required to support operational needs.
