Manager (Agriculture and Aquaculture)

We are seeking an accomplished scientist to contribute to research on the genetic improvement of aquaculture and agricultural species. The successful candidate will support research integrating cutting-edge science and technologies with practical breeding applications to improve productivity, disease resistance, environmental resilience, and sustainable food production.

Responsibilities

• Conduct and contribute to research in aquaculture and agricultural genetics and breeding.
• Design and execute research projects using relevant genetic, genomic and breeding approaches.
• Contribute to research proposals and external grant applications.
• Publish research findings in reputable international journals.
• Provide guidance to junior research staff and students, where appropriate.
• Participate in multidisciplinary collaborations with academic, government and industry partners.
• Support the translation of research findings into practical breeding applications.

Requirements:

• PhD Degree in Genetics, Genomics, Aquaculture, Agriculture, Animal Science, Plant Science, Molecular Biology, or a related discipline.
• A strong publication record in international peer-reviewed journals.
• Experience in contributing to research proposals and grant applications.
• Experience in guiding or supporting junior research staff and students.
• Experience working in multidisciplinary teams and collaborative research projects.
• Applicant should have relevant research expertise in one or more of the following areas:
  • Aquaculture genetics and breeding
  • Crop genetics and molecular breeding
  • Quantitative genetics and genomic selection
  • Genome editing and functional genomics
  • Reproductive biology and biotechnology
  • AI- and data-driven breeding technologies
  • Precision breeding for climate resilience
  • Disease resistance and host–pathogen interactions
  • Sustainable food production and food security
