We are seeking a highly motivated and capable candidate to join our team as an Assistant Research Officer in the area of plant science and crop breeding.
Our research focuses on genome-based marker-assisted breeding and genetic engineering of rice and tomato to improve yield, quality, and resistance and/or tolerance to biotic and abiotic stresses. The successful candidate will support research activities in bioinformatics, molecular biology, genetics, and genome engineering in rice and tomato.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in molecular biology experiments, including cloning, RNA extraction, and qPCR
- Perform sequence-based bioinformatics analyses
- Support genetic and genome engineering studies in rice and tomato
- Participate in greenhouse experiments and plant phenotyping
Requirements
- Minimum B.Sc. (Hons) in Plant Science or a related discipline
- Hands-on experience in molecular cloning, RNA extraction, and qPCR is required
- Experience in sequence-related bioinformatics analysis is preferred
- Ability to work independently in a greenhouse setting; experience in horticulture is an advantage
