Dr Pek Jun Wei Group: Postdoctoral Position
Research
We are looking for a highly motivated candidate to work on collaborative research projects on improving reproductive health.
Responsibilities:
- Process clinical samples including RNA, DNA extraction, microbiome isolation
- Isolate and perform primary cell cultures, directed organoid differentiation
- Functional analyses using mammalian cells and organoids via CRISPR-Cas9 technology, molecular and cell biology techniques
- cDNA library preparation for NGS, bioinformatic analysis
- Analyze clinical and cellular/molecular data to draw associations
- Assist in manuscript and grant writing, discussion and coordination with external collaborators, including presentation and organizing meetings
Requirements:
- PhD in Biological Sciences or related fields
- Expertise in mammalian cell culture work and basic molecular biology (RNA extraction, RT-PCR, qPCR etc)
- Expertise in organoid culture and differentiation and mutagenesis via CRISPR-Cas9 technology
- Expertise in cDNA library preparation for NGS and downstream bioinformatic analysis
- Prior experience in handling clinical samples (eg. Cells, blood, human milk)
- Meticulous, organized, independent and able to work collaboratively
