Congratulations to Dr Yu Fengwei, Principal
Investigator of the Molecular Neurogenesis Group
for winning the 2007 Young Scientist Award (YSA)
2007. Dr Yu received his award at the National
Science and Technology Award (NSTA) dinner held
on 13 September 2007.
Dr Yu Fengwei was recognized for his research
on neural development and neurological disorders.
He studies the fruit fly to understand how asymmetric
cell division is controlled. His findings may
potentially lead to the treatment of some neurological
diseases such as Parkinson's disease.
The Young Scientist Award recognizes young researchers,
aged 35 years and below, who have shown great
potential to be world-class researchers in their
fields of expertise. This award is organized
by Singapore National Academy of Science (SNAS)
and supported by A*STAR.
