Research Projects
Started as a small team for technology development in cotton transformation, currently our group is undergoing multi-discipline research to help address the dwindling supply of fossil fuel and fast-worsening problems of environmental pollution and global warming. Research projects are centered on developing novel as well as improved technologies for production of biodiesel and biomaterials. Organisms ranging from bacteria, fungi, microalgae to plants are being studied. Another aspect of the research focuses on value extraction in agricultural and industrial by-products through cost-effective enzymes production and improvement of microbes for energy conversion from biomass and production of organic acids
