Application and Admission

TLL anticipates accepting 10-12 students per year into the PhD Graduate Program. Applications are accepted and reviewed twice a year. The deadlines for receipt of completed applications are June 1 and December 1. (please note change in application deadlines. previous deadlines: Dec 31 and June 30) Applications should be made using the form available here ( PDF format), and sent together with all necessary supporting documents to:

Incomplete applications, or curriculum vitae sent directly to group leaders, will not be considered. It is the applicant’s responsibility to ensure that letters of reference have been sent. Short-listed candidates will be notified to attend an interview within 1 month from the closing date of each application cycle.

TOEFL or IELTS scores:
Applicants whose native language is not English, or whose medium of undergraduate instructions was not in English, must submit TOEFL or IELTS scores as evidence of their proficiency in the English Language.

GRE or GATE scores: GRE or GATE test scores are required for this application.
Applicants without GRE or GATE test scores at the time of application may submit their application first, but must clearly indicate the expected date for which the GRE/GATE test scores will be available.

The GRE requirement is waived for graduates of NUS & NTU with at least Second Class Upper Honours degree.
