A position for an Assistant Research Officer / Research Officer is immediately available at the Reproductive Genomics Group led by Laszlo Orban (Temasek Life Sciences Laboratory, Singapore). The group works on various aspects of research-based aquaculture, which is largely anchored on genomic and next-generation sequencing data (click HERE for details).
- The successful candidate is expected to join as a team member and conduct research on Asian seabass and Mozambique tilapia by using the tools of structural and functional genomics. The research work involves – but is not limited to – genome sequencing and assembly, transcriptomic analyses, nutrigenomics, metagenomics and molecular analyses of pathogens and disease resistance.
- Applicants must have a BSc, BSc Honours or MSc in genomics/molecular genetics/molecular biology and have relevant hands-on research experience in NGS sequencing or one of the other fields listed above. Publication(s) in peer-reviewed international journals of the above fields would be an advantage. The candidate should also possess a good command of English, as well as excellent interpersonal and communication skills as they will be working together with several people at different levels. They should also be able to conduct a project based on instructions and weekly discussions.
